On July 28, the glow-in-the-dark bocce fundraiser was held.
There were about 70 people in attendance, including athletes with parents, carers and friends, Bocce Australia players and families who joined the fun. Guests such as the Knox mayor, councillor and sponsors mingled with athletes and joined in the play.
There was a big raffle on the night which raised just over $2000. These funds will be shared by MER athletes to attend next year’s Bocce Australia all-inclusion Bocce National Games in Perth.
A big thanks to all, our sponsors, and a big thanks to Bocce Australia for supporting the event.
Training continues twice monthly until October with target mats, then weekly training for the summer months.
Our next fundraising event will be held on September 22 – just prior to the AFL final. Stay tuned for details.
