Bocce Team Challenge – Veneto Club, Bulleen: A triumph of community and sportsmanship
In the heart of this vibrant community, the Veneto Club recently played host to the third instalment of the Bocce Team Challenge, a testament to their commitment to promoting sportsmanship and community.
This event, part of the pioneering initiative by Bocce Australia, brought together novices from all walks of life to enjoy the age-old game of bocce.
The success of this event owes much to the dedication of individuals like Rick Gatto, whose meticulous project coordination ensured the seamless execution of the challenge. Additionally, the invaluable assistance from elite bocce members contributed significantly to the event’s smooth flow and success. Their expertise and enthusiasm elevated the experience for all participants, setting a standard for future challenges.
After six weeks of spirited competition, the Sunshine Rockets emerged victorious, showcasing their skill, teamwork, and determination. Congratulations to them on their well-deserved win!
However, every team that participated deserves applause for their efforts and sportsmanship. It’s their passion for the game that truly made this event memorable.
As the challenge draws to a close in week 6, participants can look forward to an exciting finals event. This grand finale promises fantastic prizes and trophies for the winners, adding an extra layer of excitement to the competition. Following the intense bouts, everyone will come together for a fantastic barbecue and sausage sizzle, creating an opportunity to celebrate not just the winners, but the spirit of togetherness that defines this event.

First Edition will be released Monday, October 30, 2023, on our Bocce Victoria Facebook Page.
We will also send the link as well as a PDF version to each of our Federated Clubs which will be distributed to not only their bocce members but to their actual club members as well!
Be sure to keep a look out for this fantastic new edition of the Bocce Newsletter of which we are also holding a competition until November 12, 2023 to “Name the Newsletter”. We think that the title “Bocce Newsletter” is a little boring, so we are sending the challenge out to our fantastic public for a chance to win a $100 voucher to Life’s Too Short bar and restaurant for the best name for the newsletter.

Bocce SA thanks Mirella for 30 years
The Bocce SA community recently held a vibrant and heartfelt farewell party to honour Mirella Mancini, who has dedicated 30 remarkable years of her life as the president of Bocce SA. The event was a momentous occasion filled with joy, friendship, and the enthusiastic support of devoted bocce fans and supporters.
Throughout her three-decade-long tenure as president, Mirella Mancini’s unwavering passion and tireless commitment have been the driving force behind the success and growth of Bocce SA. Her remarkable leadership not only shaped the sport but also nurtured a thriving community of bocce enthusiasts.
As Mirella Mancini steps down from her role, the Bocce SA community extends its deepest gratitude for her invaluable contributions. Her vision, dedication, and unwavering commitment have left an indelible mark on both the sport of bocce and the hearts of its followers. Her legacy is a testament to her remarkable leadership and dedication.
With open arms, the community welcomes the new president, Antonia Zotti, and looks forward to the continued growth and success of Bocce SA. Western Australia update
The Azzuri Club, Perth came alive with the exciting sound of bocce balls as the Interclub Tournament unfolded, attracting many enthusiastic bocce players.
The winners were:

- 2nd – V Matutinovic and A Del Casale
- 3rd – L Paravicini and J Mazzotti
- 4th – B Kuscevic and M Dallaprimavera

Queensland update
The Newmarket Bocce Club, Brisbane had the privilege of hosting this year’s highly anticipated Qld Federation Cup, a prestigious bocce tournament that drew competitors and enthusiasts from across Queensland.
The event showcased the passion and skill of bocce players, both men and women, who vied for top honours over the course of an exciting weekend.
Results:
Men’s division:
- 1st place: Newmarket Bocce Club
- 2nd place: Across the Waves Bocce Club
Women’s division:
- 1st place: Redlands Bocce Club
- 2nd place: Newmarket Bocce Club
