Australian junior training clinic rolls into action

The Australian junior training clinic weekend kicked off with a bang at the Redlands Bocce Centre in Queensland. Juniors from all over Australia came together for an exhilarating start to their bocce journey, guided by our top-notch national coaching team.

The action packed weekend began with an electrifying warm up and goal-setting session. Coach Linda got the energy flowing with a dynamic team building exercise, setting the stage for high intensity skills and drills with our expert coaches.

Coach Kerrie brought the heat with an engaging theory session on technical rules and tips, featuring on-court demos and interactive activities. The juniors faced the thrilling challenge of mastering these skills as a group before moving on to the next module. The Q and A sessions were buzzing with excitement as players learned essential techniques like precise measuring, marking the jack and balls, and optimal player positioning.

The excitement didn’t stop there! The Battle of the States throwing and pointing challenges saw Queensland face off against New South Wales in round one. New South Wales emerged victorious, and round two will take place at the next clinic, with the winner determined by the best of three rounds. The friendly competition added a fun twist to day one, ending with lots of laughter and camaraderie.

With a well-deserved break, the juniors are recharged and ready for day two’s thrilling ‘3 Round Showdown Competition.’ Juniors battled it out in their age categories, with Queensland hosting round one. The champions from each round will be crowned in the final showdown.
